Patrol Information
All we can share at this time is that the minimum patrol size will be 5 girls / 2 adults. If you have a smaller group interested, we'll try to combine you with a group from your local area that is coming. It's a great way to make new friends!
*** For those that are having difficulty putting together the minimum patrol size, we would like to encourage you to register before the deadline to reserve your campsite. We’ll do some “match making” from our end as needed. We’ve already successfully paired a few smaller patrols using our freshly honed “match making” skills! ***
Remember when planning that we are on an island and space is limited, patrol sites will be small!
A detailed Patrol Manual will be available to patrol leaders once their registration has been confirmed. This first installation of the patrol manual will contain information on many topics. Patrols will be notified by mid-November of their registration status.

Volunteer Information
Volunteering is a great way for adults to make new friends and make a difference to the Camporee. We promise to take good care of our volunteers and make it fun. We will try to assign you with another adult, so you will have someone to talk to. Every effort will also be made for volunteers to experience as much of the Camporee as possible and still fulfill their volunteer commitments. Adults will have the opportunity to choose activity rotations and off-sites according to their interests, just like the girls. Every effort will be made to schedule volunteers so they can participate in some program activities. This will partially depend on how many hours the volunteer is scheduled to work.
Camporee volunteers are adults who choose to work for a specific amount of time at the Camporee, instead of participating in the Camporee at that time.
Camporee volunteers are expected to register for the Camporee, pay the standard registration fee and other costs. Volunteers who work 10 hours or more (time worked during set-up and break down will count toward these hours) will be reimbursed for a portion of their registration fee after the Camporee:
- Volunteers working at least 10 hours will be reimbursed $50.00.
- Volunteers working at least 18 hours will be reimbursed $100.00.
Volunteers will receive a Camporee volunteer t-shirt in place of a Camporee t-shirt, in addition to the items all Camporee participants receive.
We will make an effort to rotate your shifts to different times of the day so that you will be able to participate in different kinds of activities. .
Troops are discouraged from bringing more adults than are needed to meet Safety Wise girl/adult ratios. Adults who exceed that ratio are asked to volunteer. Exceptions must be approved by the event chairs. Volunteer forms must be filled out and submitted at the time of troop registration.
Volunteers will have many opportunities to support the Camporee: registration, check out, first aid and security; monitor the tenting area; usher at the opening and closing ceremonies; lead songs and games; work at free time activities, etc. There also will be limited opportunities to lead program activities; if you have a special skill to share, please indicate that on your volunteer form. Volunteers will not be scheduled until after all program scheduling has been completed. Your volunteer schedule will be available in late May/early June, 2008.
